Hi Chris,

I just stumbled upon your message on the Ancestry discussion boards, regarding theresia Wanschura. I am a decendant of Theresia WanSchura and Pius Herrmann, and have quite a bit of research on this line. Are you in connected to this line? If so I'd be happy to share information I have, and would be curious if you know more about Teresia and her family.

I'm sorry, but as I wrote in 2000, I still do not know the relation of my familiy to Frank and Mariana Wanschura. But my be I saw the graves of your ancesters!
I attach the pictures that I took there in 1996.

I have just discovered your post during a recent search in my genealogy research. I think we are connected!

My grandmother was Helen Ophelia Herrmann (married to Frank Paffe). Helen was daughter of Pius Herrmann and Teresia Wanschura (one of 8 children) who settled in Cincinnati Ohio, USA.

Teresia's parents were a Frank and Mariana Wanschura, of Bohemia.

I believe my Teresia and your Theresia (below) may the same person.

If so I can provide a great deal of information to you on Teresia and Pius and their descendants. I would be grateful for information on Teresia, her siblings and parents, and other Wanshuras from Bohemia.

This is very exciting, as I was at a brick wall on this line. Thank you in advance for anything we can share.

Jjust saw your message of 2000 about Theresia WanSchura. I have some information about the children of her marriage to Pius Herrmann, if you are interested. One son became a priest, pastor of St Andrew Church in Milford, Ohio.

New Reply-I visited Franz and Marianna's grave site in Celne, and did research in Zamrsk. I think we are distantly related as both Franz and my greatgrandfather, Daniel Wanschura have the same village property, 123 Wichstadt, origin. Do you know who Marianna's mother was? Lori-I have a research report on marriages from Celne in Eastern Bohemia. Pius Herrmann married Theresia Wanschura 21 October, 1884. They were from Celne, property # 74. I have additional listing of marriages from the Celne, some from property # 74. Please contact me at vogeltg@harenet.net

My grand grand father Josef Wanchura was married to Filomena Wanchura geb. Filip (Philip) They lived in Lichkov (Lichtenau) in Eastern Bohemia. ( 15 km from Grulich ). After WW2 they was moved to Grevenbrueck ( Kreis Olpe, Sauerland, Nordrhein Westfalen ) They got 3 childern - my grand Mutti - Filomena died in 1944 - appendixes problem, One son Karl died in 1943 in Russia ( Kursk ) and second son was shoted in 1944 by Russian Field Court ( he was the SS member ).

Lori-I think Matthias has your ancestors for sure. Your Wanschura names are the same as his ancestry. My grandmother Wanschurra was from the same area in Bohemia also. Do you have other names of siblings? I have information on the area Matthias's Wanschura ancestry is from.

I have a Theresia WanSchura (1863-1946) d/o Frank and Marianna WanSchura. Theresia married Pius Herrmann and immigrated to Cincinnati, OH in 1886.

Matthias-Thank you for your reply. My grandmother(1876-1956) Marie's obituary said she still had a sister living in Europe in 1956. The sister's name was Emela(Wanschura)Schmidt. Marie also had a brother, who was a priest, but passed away before Marie. Please e-mail me direct. vogeltg@harenet.net I don't know any other names of siblings,only that they came from the Rokitnitz area. I found Celne on my maps. It's also near Nieder Ullersdorf, which is significant for other Vogel relatives(that and Batzdorf). I have a photo of Wanschuras at my grandparent's wedding. Please contact me. nice to find somesone who is interested also
in the Wanschura history !

my great-grandfather Wenzel Wanschura
left Bohemia also in the late 1800's
and went to Bremen, Germany (Where I
was born) I don't know the name of his parents.

In 1996, I visited Celne in Bohemia,
which is very close (a few miles)
to Rokitnitz and I found old
graves of the Wanschura family.
The following persons are burried there:

Theresia Wanschura (1847-1901)
Theresia Wanschura (1881-1902)
Franz Wanschura (1846-1929)
Anton Wanschura (1869-1932)
Marianna Wanschura (1826-1913)

I do not know in how far they were
related to my great-grandfather.

Do you know the names of brothers or
sisters of Marie and/or Daniel Wanschura ?
