Nancy Lillian Ledford Walker
(March 25, 1917 - October 28, 2004)
Nancy Lillian Ledford Walker, age 87, of Old Fort, passed away Thursday, October 28, 2004 at The McDowell Hospital. Mrs. Walker was born March 25, 1917 in McDowell County and was a daughter of the late Manley Logan Ledford and Annie Viola Burgin Ledford. She was a member of Cherry Springs Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold H. �Bull� Walker, two daughters, Janice W. Koon and Miriam W. Mercell, two grandchildren, James Ray Walker and Brandy Mercell, stepmother, Alda Ledbetter Ledford, four brothers, Jack Ledford, Ralph �Pete� Ledford, Harold Ledford and Roy Ledford and one sister, Emma McCracken.
Mrs. Walker is survived by her children: Imogene W. Poole and husband Dale of Marion, Rev. James H. Walker of Old Fort, Dianne W. Severt of West Jefferson, Delores W. Crocker of Ft. Myers, FL, J. Larry Walker of Old Fort, Linda C. Walker of Old Fort, Marshall L. Walker of Marion and Sharon W. Smith and husband Ted of Old Fort; three sisters, Lorraine Hensley of Marion, Florence Poteat of Morganton and Jean Rumfelt of Marion; 21 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, October 31, 2004 at 3:00 pm at Cherry Springs Baptist Church, with Rev. J. C. Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 � 3 pm, preceding the service, at the church. Interment will be in Cherry Springs Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cherry Springs Baptist Church, 6 Bull Walker Road, Old Fort, N. C 28762 or Gideon�s International, P.O. Box 1788, Marion, N. C. 28752.
