Re: Peter Wagemann (1874-1952) married to Ida Schimilfing

Hi Ron,
Peter and Ida were my grandmother's parents. I have a picture of Ida as a young girl in my bedroom. I think I have a picture of Peter somewhere. I would have to look for it. He died the year before I was born. Henrietta is my great aunt. My grandmother was her sister Margaret. I think there were seven daughters: Margaret, Gertrude, Mary, Francis, Elizabeth, and Henrietta. And one boy, Thader. I think I have a picture of Henrietta's wedding somewhere. Why are you interested in them? Peter and Ida are buried in the Winfield, Illinois cemetary. I took my children to the cemetary before we moved to Texas. We now live in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. I have a different spelling for Schimilpfennig. If you are still interested I will hae to get out my grandmother's notes. Please contact me. Catherine Heinz Jungr

Waggaman / North Carolina and Indiana

I know were Alson Prior Waggaman got his name but can’t figure out the connection. Maybe if I send this out to everyone that someone else can shed some light on this family. I have been working on the Waggaman’s for years and this is what I have found.
I bought a book from Guilford Co. North Carolina APPRENTICE BONDS & PAPERS 1817 – 1870 on page 55 and page 56 it has Alson Prier (male orphan, age 13 on 4-5-1820). Master and date of Bond (John Waggoner 2-21-1820) witness Jno. Hanner)
On page 56 Denard Pryor (male orphan no age) Master and Date of Bond Andrew Waggaman 11-20-1820) Witness Jno. Hanner.

If you look at the old census records for Guilford Co. North Carolina you will find John Waggaman and Andrew Waggaman along with some Waggoners. John Waggaman is the right age to be Andrew Waggaman b. 1779 father. I also went to Salt Lake City and found some land records that mention Adam, Andrew and John Waggaman. So I’m wondering are the Pryor’s some how related to the Waggaman’s and is that why John and Andrew took in both Pryor boys? Also naming a family member after Alson.

Please contact me with anything you might know or any questions
Martha Bash
Glen WAGAMAN(N) or other Spelling Variations

I'm trying to find information on Glen WAGAMAN(N). There may be other variations to the way his surname is spelled. He married Florence BARRETT, (when and where are unknown at this time.) Does anyone recognize either of these two people?

Thanks!

Pat McCoy

I also have a Waggaman that married a Byrket or Burket. Andrew Waggman born 1779 in Guilford Co. NC moved to Henry Co. Indiana after 1830 and before 1834. In Henry Co. there were Burket's from Montgomery Co. Ohio. The same County in Ohio that your Mary Catherine Burket that married John Wogaman was from. Andrew had a daughter Sarah A. Waggaman born about 1821 in NC. She married an unknown Byrket abt. 1838. She had a son John Byrket born abt. 1839. Her husband must have died because she remarries in 1842 to a Whittington Crane in Clinton Co. Indiana. Andrew Waggaman is in the 1840 census for Clinton Co. Indiana. My new e-mail address is marthabash@earthlink.net

Any help would be appreciated
Thank You

Martha
