I would suggest you check with Doris Peron at this sight. Her maiden name was Waack and she has done a lot of work on this name. Hope this helps.

hello, I was given your name by doris peron in this same area of ancestry. she said your maiden name was waack I am trying to get info start a family search for the 1st time. I need all the help I can get in this area as I'm a newbee in the geneology area haven't a clue where to start. I was also a Waack at birth. Born in the Michigan area... Any help you can supply would be great appreciated. My Father Frank B. Waack just passed on a couple of weeks ago has 2 surviving brothers sisters. The very first thing to do is to talk to any and all living family members. What one may have forgotten, another may remember. Even small tidbits. Visit libraries in the town they were born in. (Genealogy Dept.) They are very helpful) When you glean all the other information you can, ask in this section if anyone knows about so and so born in such and such a place on this date.
That's how I've been doing it so far. As far as the Waack name, I know absolutely nothing as there are none anywhere in my family that I have any inkling of yet. Good luck. Yoyu'll want to look up birth records, marriage, deaths, cemeteries, and sometimes churches and old newspapers. Good luck!

Hello again I'm sorry I was told that you we're a Waack as a child. I wouldn't have bothered you otherwise. I was born in Mich. but now reside in NH. So I won't be able to do a lot of your suggestions. My dad was 1 of 13 as only 2 survive that are older than him it's hard to get info from afar. I don't have addresses for both of them. I was born a Waack have 3 siblings tat are still alive but have never deved into this area I'm the computer person in the family so I offered but guess with no one living in Mich . this will be very difficult. I do thank you for your help. I will see where I can go from here. Again I apologize for the intrusion. Tana

Hi Amanda,
I'm researching the Wambsganss family, all of whom are descended from Jacob Wambsganss of Nussdorf, Rheinpfalz in Germany. I'm planning to do a book on this family, and would like more information about your family. My husband is the son of Marie Wambsganss Albers and grandson of Rev. William Wambsganss of Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Any info you can give will be greatly appreciated.

Jean, I am starting to research the Schreiber family that also came from Nussdorf, Rhinepfalzbavaria. One of my ancestors had a sister who apparently married into the Wambsgans family in Nussdorf ("Barbara Wamsgans" - nee Bender) The Schreiber family also knew the Rev. Philip Wambsgans and Anton Wambsgans, and stayed with a sister of Anton Wambsgans ("Name was Schuman") one winter when they first came to Kendallville. Do you have any information regarding the Schreiber line in Nussdorf, Germany, or regarding Barbara Wambsgans, that you would be willing to share? Thank you so much!
