Dear Johnathan I have just come across your message, my Great Grand father was John Baggs Vye born in Weymouth in around 1822 his Father was George and his Mother was Mary, in the 1841 census he was found as a shoemaker living in Hope St, Weymouth in a lodging house age 15. A Mary and George Vye were than living in Poole, but I cannot confirm that they are the right pair, John moved to Folkestone Kent and first married Sarah Maria Anderson Sept 1848 in the parish of Elham Kent, they had quite a few childen then John married Mary Ann Smith nee Sweetlove they had one child this was my Grandfather Thomas Baggs Vye in 1882, A Son Henry born in the 1859 in Folkestone he was listed as a bricklayer at the age of 22 in Folkestone in the 1881 census ? I hope to hear from you Ann in Essex

Hi! I was interested in learning more about my heritage. My maiden name was Vye. Maybe we are related? I am from Canada.
