I am not researching this family but this gentleman was a friend of my parents. If any one should read this who knows where Jesse's daughter Janice is, I would love a hello from her!

Deceased Name: JESSE M. VUNCANNON
RAMSEUR - Jesse Malden Vuncannon, 75, of 5182 Foushee Rd., died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1998, at his residence. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, 1998, at Jordan Memorial United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Scott Owen and the Rev. Ardis Payne. Burial will be in Sunset Knoll Cemetery. He was a Guilford County native, a graduate of Central Wesleyan College and a 1953 Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Mr. Vuncannon operated a United Methodist Church School in Costa Rica for 2 years and upon returning to the U.S., began work with The Dept. of Public Instructions in the Social Studies Program. He also worked with the Close Up Foundation in Washington, DC. He was a high school principal in Jamestown and Browns Summit. He was a WWII Army veteran, a former member of the Rotary Club. Upon retirement he, moved to Ramseur, where he became a member of the Ramseur Lion's Club; and was also a member of Jordan Memorial United Methodist Church. Survivors are his wife, Mary Elizabeth Vuncannon of the home; daughter, Janice Sear of Raleigh; brothers, Carl Vuncannon of High Point, and the Rev. Lewis Vuncannon of Greensboro; sister, Lila Dale of High Point; and one grandson. The family will receive friends in the Craven Room, after the service at the church.
