My sister Julie has sent me copies of e.mails from Janice Coleman and Roger Vroome de Kassell who are in touch with her daughter Collette. Thought you might like a bit of input from the older generation. My Dad was Albert, I have 3 sisters Barbara Pauline and Julie (I was the 3rd child) Dad had 4 brothers and 3 sisters (there were 2 more who died don't know their names) the boys were called Julian Albert Godfrey Roland (didn't know him as Ronald) and Jim, the girls were Patricia Pamela and Marcelene.
I remember Dad hiring a car and taking us to visit Uncle Roland & Auntie Millie and their 4 children, I seem to recall getting on well with Marion. I remember them coming to see us in Borehamwood too.
I didn't realise that drink is a genetic curse - I must admit I like a tipple or 2 and once overdosed on wine and whisky at a New Year do - had to clean cat litter trays the next morning (I have a boarding kennel & cattery) not a pleasant job in that state, couldn't touch whisky for years!
Mum & Dad went to Australia for 6 months to stay with Pauline who emigrated there about 25 yrs ago. One of the young men challenged Dad to drinking competition thinking it would be a walkover - he ended up under the table.
My husband John & I are off on our first visit to Australia in a couple of weeks so if you want to ask anything it might be the New Year before I respond.
I shall keep looking for more postings.
Best wishes to all
Jackie
