I found something that puzzled me and I am hoping that someone here has the answer. My 2nd great granparents are John Winters GORSE (1830 – 1910) and Agnes Calista VROOMAN (1831 - 1873); their children: my great grandmother - Ermina Calista Gorse (1856 – 1911); Edward Gorse (1858 – ); Jon Eaton Gorse (1861 – 1915). The question arises from the death certificate for Jon Eaton Gorse. The mother's maiden name is listed as "Bronson." All of the historical records that I have collected confirm her parents as William Vrooman and Agnes Stewart (or Stuart), the marriage to John Winters Gorse, and their children. Is it at all possible tht she was married first to "Bronson"? Or could this be a clerk's error in recording the information on Jon's death certificate. I noticed the information for the certificate was provided by Jon's brother, Edward.
I would appreciate feedback relevant to any of the information provided.
Thank you,
Carole
