How many Vroom progenitors in North America before 1683?

Classification: Query
Surnames: Vroom, Corssen, Corsen, Corson, Pieterszen
Hello all,
Documents indicate that Dutch immigrant Cors Pieterszen (born 1612 in Langeraar, Netherlands; died 1655 in New Amsterdam) had three sons. The two eldest founded male lines with the surname Corssen/Corsen/Corson, while the youngest, Hendrick Corssen (Vroom) (b. 1653, New Amsterdam), adopted the surname Vroom, which his many descendants still carry.

I coordinate a project that has established genetic signatures for two documented grandchildren of Cors Pieterszen: (1) Benjamin Corssen (1686-1740) (Staten Island, NY to Bucks Co., PA) and (2) Hendrick Vroom (1683-1769) (Somerville, NJ to Raritan, NJ). Because both lines document descent from Cors Pieterszen, their genetic signatures should match; however, they do not. Thus, only one of the two lines (if either) can descend from Cors Pieterszen. At least one of them does not. If interested, you can read more about the project and view participant lineages at its website: http://www.geocities.com/misccorson/dna/

The genetic signature for Benjamin Corssen does not match that of any other Corson descendant tested, indicating that he did not descend from one of the other known Corson progenitors. In contrast, I know little about other potential Vroom progenitors in North America during the colonial period. Postings on this message board and correspondence I've had with some of you suggest that other early immigrants may have been named Vroom or added "de Vroma" to their names, but I haven't been able to identify specific individuals.

Do any of you know of specific progenitors, besides Hendrick Corssen (Vroom) (b. 1653, New Amsterdam), who had the Vroom surname in North America before 1683?

Thank you,
Michael Corson
