Greg:

We are related through Gjermund Nerison. I'n not on "my" computer at this time so I don't have file access.

I'll send U an e-mail later and we can compare notes.

I've been woking on "Vraa Genealogy" for a number of years and have quite an extensivve database. I'm wondering if U had a great-aunt named Thea. I think that you are related to "a real Vraa"; came from the Vraa farm in Norway. The others came from the Vraa farm as cottagers and took the name Vraa. It's a coincidence that I am working with the grandson of Gunder Vraa married to Thea Vraa that I off hand beleive was a sister of your Gilbert Vraa. Need to check my database.

I've tracked my Vraa ancestors from Norway (1843) to WI; then to Norway Township, Fillmore County, MN; then to the Sand Hill area (Climax); & then to Pennington County, MN. There is also someone working on the "Nerison" family tree as it relates to Vraas.

There were three Vraa (from the farm) that emigrated to MN in the 1843-1853 timeframe. They are scattered mostly (in the 1900s) in MN, ND, SD, MT, and Canada. I have traced two extensively but in the process of "nailing down " the last one. Have to find some of his ancestors and trace back. I have 300 copies of death certificates that should arrive next week so I can get started.

Will contact U later today.

Regards/earl vraa
