You're welcome.
Birds of a feather fly together. common language and common tradition to observe would put our first ancestors together.
dialects in Slovakia:
http://www.pitt.edu/~armata/dialects.htm VOZAR and TOMECSKO from Slovakia
KOPANCZYSZYN and ANTONISZAK from present Poland [Galicia]
I go by the NY EI arrival manifests. You might want to look into other US documents like naturalization intent & petition; church marriage record; church baptismal record; SS-5Form etc.
The Slovak Smolnik that is no longer because of a man made water reservoir build in 1981 would be the closest Smolnik but I doubt there is any connection to the ancestor that came from Smolnik, Austria.Galicia.
Maps don't lie.
Good luck.
