I am attempting to reseach the voyage of Pieter de Lint, a member of the van Noort circumnavigation fleet of 1598. Pieter was separated from the main body of the fleet after clearing the Magellan strait on the last day of February 1600 and was not heard from until he beached his ship on the shore of Ternate in the Spice Islands a year later.
Are there any legends or traditions in your family lore about this eatrly explorer? I have virtually nothing at this time.
