Hi,
Rose Victoria Dessan is the daughter of Jean Dessan. Both were born in France. I have two documentations on my tree. The first is her death cert but unfortunately I'm not able to read the handwriting that indicates what city in France. Feel free to take a look and see if you can transcribe...lol. Also, another Ferrand cousin found her death announcement which also indicates she was a native of France.

At this point, I believe Oscar was her second husband. I have some info but since I'm a descendent of her daughter Victoria with her first husband, I haven't gotten to much.

I can be reached here or at melinda.bourg@live.com if you want to share more info.

If this is the same Jessie Voisin....he was a Morgan City Councilman who endorsed my grandfather in his last election in 1980. I have a newspaper clipping of them shaking hands.
Does anyone have any information about people in Channel Islands - particularly Jersey, with these surnames. I have found my Grandfather's (Adolphus George Voisin) birth and marriage but can find no record of his death. The story is that he died on the docks in Southampton in WW2 but I have lost him after his marriage to my Grandma (Edith May Hardy)in Southampton.
The Stopher branch of the family are still in Jersey although some have married and therefore changed their names.

I have John Baptist Schuett in my Family tree Married to Anna Druar. They had a son Martin who married Otillia Dietrich whose daughter Annie Marie Schuett married Hubert Lesmann Her Sister Cecilia married Vincent Joseph Beingessner Then it appears that cousins married. Edmund Martin Beingessner Cecelia's son, married Dorreta Lesmann Annie Maire's daughter, then the family moved to Truax Sasketchewan, A town that was founded by the Biengessners.

As for Burial Info. I'm quite certain that John and Anna are burried in The churchyard at Immaculate Conception Church, Formosa, Bruce County. Which is my Wife and My parish church. There are many Schuetts there LeeAnne tells me that Schuett is a name connected with Mildmay, a town nearby, and there is a Schuett's Furniture store there still, I can sen you the decendant chart I have if you would like in Gedcom format (for family tree programs) just send me an e-mail yrdraig@hotmail.com

I'm looking for the marriage date for Elisabeth Voisin, who married Louis (Ludwig) Rauschkolb sometime before 1849, possibly in St. Clair County, IL. Elisabeth was born in Ruchheim, Germany, in 1822, and was confirmed there in 1836. Sometime after that, her family came to the US. Her parents were Jacob Voisin and Elisabetha Hausam.

The first record I have of Elisabeth and Ludwig is the birth of their son Louis in Belleville in 1849, but I don't know if there were other children before that.

The literal English translation of the French word "Voisin" is "Neighbor". In researching the Neighbors family tree, I've been told by several other researchers that many Voisins changed their name to Neighbors. Maybe this is true of the ncestors you are seeking.

The family book I was referring is of my husband's family tree. It is a 419 page book of his entire family tree. I do know that the passenger list for the ship "PHOENIX" is accurate. Most of the time you can go to the country that your ancestors come from and they have web-sites that will list the ship's that left their ports and their passenger's. Also they will tell you if the person you are looking for was a short-term visitor or a resident being that all visitors usually had to sign a registry when visiting other villiages. If the visitor didn't sign in then the person they were visiting would do it for them. If you wish you can e-mail me at jimnmelodyd@aol.com I could help you with any questions you have.
Thank you,
Melody

Trudy, I have a family book that has the ship's passenger list. I don't think it is your Jean Pierre Voisin but there was a J.P. Voisin on the ship. It sailed from Rotterdam, stopping at Cowes and arriving in Philadelphia on 1 Oct. 1754

Where did you get the list of the Phoenix?
I would like to know where it departed and arrived etc. I will have to prove this is our Jean somehow? If it is. My Jean never went by Jean Pierre and Pierre is never mentioned in any related documents not marriage, court or his last will and succession. This may not be him, but I am still interested as I must rule it out if it is not him. Thank you so much for responding and I hope it turns out to be proff I need but again the dates would be wrong he states in his will in 1820 he was in the Louisiana 40 years. Then again, he could have been in the US more. ?? I will check, thanks again.
