YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – There will be a funeral service at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2015, at the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home in Boardman, Ohio for Sylvia “Sibbie” DePasqua, 90, who passed away Sunday, Aug. 23, 2015, surrounded by her loving family.
Sylvia was born April 6, 1925, in Campbell, Ohio, (Mahoning County) the daughter of Gheorge and Anna (Getz) Voiku.
Sylvia was a graduate of South High School and worked in various factories during World War II.
She volunteered for Easter Seals and was a member of Forever Friends Card Club. Music was Sylvia’s passion.
She enjoyed listening to music and playing the piano.
She also enjoyed cooking, playing bingo, watching old movies, and spending time with her family.
Her husband, Albert “Putts” DePasqua, whom she married April 3, 1948, passed away Nov. 10, 2003.
Sylvia will always be remembered lovingly by her three children, James A. DePasqua of Canfield, Ohio, Anita Genova of Poland, Ohio and Janis L. DePasqua of Youngstown, OH; four granddaughters, Natalie DePasqua, Lauren (Matt) Ausmann, and Gina and Deanna Genova; great-grandson Sammy Ausmann; and brother Dan Voiku of California.
Besides her parents and husband, Sylvia was preceded in death by brother George Voiku and sister Anne Stoika.
Friends may call on Wednesday, Aug. 26, from 4 to 6 p.m., at the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave. in Boardman, Ohio.
