HERMAN VOIGT DEAD
Herman Voigt, father of R. E. Voigt of Cheney Supply company, died at the son's residence in this city at 9:20 o'clock Tuesday evening from infection caused by a disease of the kidneys. Some time ago Mr. Voigt also suffered a stroke of paralysis which rendered him bedridden and helpless. Dropsy also comolicated the other ailments.
Mr. Voigt was a native of Germany, having been born at Badenburg in 1849. He came to America many years ago and for a long time made his home in Wisconsin and Minnesota. He came to Cheney last October, making his home in the family of his son.
The body has been prepared for burial and will be sent to Winona, Minnesota for interment on Monday next. E. E. Voigt, a son of Des Moines, Iowa, is now en route here and will accompany the body of his late father on the journey to the east.
The dead man is survived by a brother, William Voigt, of Kanauskum, WI; one daughter, Mrs. P. B. Flannery, of Milwaukee, and three sons, F. H. Voigt of Ottumwa, Iowa; E. E. Voigt of Des Moines and R. E. of this city.
I'm not related to this family, but posted the obit in hopes it would help someone with their research.
