Does anybody have Karl VOGT the naturalist in their family tree? I am trying to find information on him and confirm a suspected link to my family, but am having difficulty. Would appreciate any assistance or advice. Thanks.

I am looking for information on a Karl Vogt of Germany who immigrated to USA to mary Whilhemena. Had son Charles, Otto, and ?. The unknown son married a NY fashion designer with the name Mary Christmas (sp?) in the 1920's.

Karl Vogt's father was Philipp Friedrich Wilhelm Vogt (b1787 d1861) and his mother was Louise Follen (Follenius), he had 3 brothers (Emil, Gustav and Adolf)and one sister (Luise). Philipp was a Professor of Toxicology in Switzerland.

I have a great great Uncle, George Leonard Vogt, his father was Johann Hermann Vogt and Gl Vogt is a very similar lloking fellow to Karl Vogt and like you I know they are relatives but I am unable to make the connection, I hope what I have researched and found is of value to you.

my name is karl j vogt and apparently i am related to this gentleman (if he is the fellow mentioned in both books by charles darwin).

this was told to me by two sources. one was my father, mervyn karl vogt (you can see him on youtube if you search under his name) and the other was a research fellow at melbourne university (australia) by the name of doug who was writing a thesis on the history of evolutionary study who confirmed this in a conversation with me some years ago.

My grandmother was a Vogt and her grandfather was from Frankfurt, Germany, (Johann Hermann Vogt), I know that the Karl Vogt and our Vogt family are related (physical similarities). Would you be able to email some family trees you may have developed linking yoyrself back to Karl Vogt, that may give me some clues as to the relationship between our families? Thanks in expectation

Hi, I was just wondering what your grandmothers name is? My grandfather, was also a Vogt. I'm currently doing a family tree and family research, and older family members have indicated that Karl Vogt was a relation.

I am trying to find a link between my family and that of karl Vogt, but it has been quite hard to ascertain. I have some family tree name for karl Vogt and I have my own tree to GG Grandfather born in Frankfurt in Main 1822 - initially I thought that Karl and Johan Herman (My GGGF)were cousins, i.e. their fathers were brother and they shared a common grandfather, but I am missing that link.
