BROOKLYN, Mich. - Harold H. Vischer Sr., 95, Brooklyn, went to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, July 17, 2010, at Allegiance Hospice Home in Jackson.
District Superintendent of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church, Jeffrey Brown will officiate.
Memorials may be made to the Irish Hills Community Church Outreach Fund.
Mr. Vischer was born Oct. 17, 1914, in Toledo, Ohio, the son of Harry P. and Hazel (Patterson) Vischer Sr.
He graduated from Whitmer High School in Toledo.
He married DeNell Meyers Feb. 18, 1938, in Toledo. She preceded him in death April 7, 1995.
He graduated from University of Toledo with a business administration degree.
He worked as a vice president of sales at Firestone in Akron, Ohio, for more than 20 years and then more than 20 years at Bandag Inc. in Muscatine, Iowa.
He moved to Brooklyn in 1980. He was a charter member of the Irish Hills Community Church and a member of the Gideon's for more than 40 years.
He enjoyed gardening and loved his time with family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by three sons, Harold Vischer, Jr. and wife, Chris of Brooklyn, Robert Vischer and wife, Janice of Jackson and Michael Vischer and wife, Debbi of Brooklyn; two girls they raised as daughters, Jackie Matthews and husband, John of Minneapolis and Cynthia Harvey and husband, George of Los Angeles; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Toedter of Toledo; brother, Harry Vischer Jr. of Leoni; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and a sister, Eleanor Brillhart.
