More hints to follow for Anna Vinal's maiden name. Mark Storey found "Biddenden, Kent Baptisms 1538-1846 which lists the Vinall family and it appears to be part of our line. Also found "Benenden, Kent Baptisms, 1558-1906" that includes Vynall, Stephen--also appears to be ours with date matches. Bur more interesting are hints that Anna's maiden name may have been Uredge (Vredge in documents--the U/V thing). In the same baptism records are Vredge family members (brother? cousin?). This info is from St. Georges Church in Benenden, Kent. In the St. George church records he found marriage: 21st October 1623, Steven Dyneall & Anne Vridge---with writing, etc. this is too close not to be followed up more....but I'm way too far away for this project. More thoughts: While many stories say she came to America as a widow--that doesn't seem to be true. Stephen died around 1639--and was a freeman--I don't know how to prove this. Other spellings for Uredge: Vridge, Uridge, Euridge, Ewridge---and more. There is also a website: www.uridge.org and one-name.org/profiles/uridge.html#orgin and americanancestors.org/descendants-stanleys-Hartford. Hattie Dixon (Dunn family to Vinals).
