Surnames: Vig, Vik, Wiig, Wich, Wick.
I am searching for relatives that emigrated to the US in the late 1800.
I have found one Odin Vig (b. 1847- d.1912) wife Beret and a son Anton U. (b. 1878) in the 1880 Census for Hennepin County, Minnesota. He ran a boat rental and was a tourist guide at Lake Minnetonka.?
Odin had two brothers Ole Andreas (b. 1840-d.1911) and Carl (b. 1845) that also lived in Hennepin County, they may have emigrated some years later than Odin. Carl was married to Anna Røssing and had 4 daughters, and Ole Andreas had 14 children.
Their original surname was Olsen or Olesen, and they came from a farm named Vikaskag, and may have taken the name Vig, Vik, Wiig, Wich, Wick.
I am trying to find their descendants, to get in touch with relatives in the US.
I am grateful for all the help anyone can give.
