Classification: Query
Surnames: Vidaurri
My paternal grandmother's name was Maria (Mary) Vidarri Sepulveda. Her biological parent's names (my paternal-maternal great grandparents) were Antonia Rodriquez Vidaurri and Rafael Vidaurri. Antonia moved from Laredo to San Antonio (without Rafael) much earlier than the 1940, probably in the mid to late 1880s or early 1890s. Rafael remained in Laredo with the main family and a probable second wife (unknown name). His first marriage to Antonia, though socio-economically ostracized, was legitimate and legal. It is unknown whether a legal divorce was granted or issued. Thereafter, through brief visits back to Laredo and ensuing discussions with the remaining Vidarri clan in Laredo, all family ties were cut, as far as we know. We do not yet know the name of Rafael's biological parents, but they were probably one of the main Vidaurri clan in Laredo or at least one leaf of a very influential Vidarri clan who were one of the major land barons in South Texas (at one point larger than the King Ranch estates). I suspect that your grandfather, Ignacio Vidaurri, was a distant cousin (possible direct cousin) to Maria Vidaurri through a sibling on the tree level of Rafael Vidaurri.
