YOUNG GIRL DIES FROM HER INJURIES

Eaton,Oh. January 19, 1918- Miss Blanche Vibber,20, who was frightfully burned on the body a week ago in the home of Henry Sanders, southwest of here in Dixon Township(Preble County) when her nightgown caught fire from a stove, died from the effects of her injuries Friday night in the Sanders Home.
Her body was shipped Saturday afternoon to Springfield, Ohio, for burial. Miss Vibber was employed as a domestic in the Sanders home. The night she sustained the burns that proved fatal, Miss Vibber had prepared to retire for the night.
She took a place near the stove to bathe a sprained ankle with liniment. In some manner her flannel gown caught fire from the stove and her body soon enveloped in flames. Her screams brought Mr. Sanders to her rescue.
Failing in an attempt to smother the flames with a rug, he picked up the woman in his arms, ran into the dooryard with her and rolled her in the snow, putting out the flames. She suffered deep burns from her neck to her feet, her face and head escaping the flames, due to Mr. Sanders efforts to protect her face from the fire.
She suffered intensely, and the shocks occasioned by the accident, along with her frightful injuries, caused her death.
A sister lives in Springfield, where the body was sent for burial. Miss Vibber had been employed in the Sanders home some time.
