Looking for information on wife of William VIALL. He was born in Massachusetts and was a Loyalist that went to Fort George at Bagaduce (Battle of Penobscot) during the Revolutionary war. Bagaduce is modern day Castine, Maine. He is listed there with wife Rebecca and son William under 10. After the British abandoned the fort, he and his family went to St. Andrews, New Brunswick, Canada with the Penobscot Loyalists. He died in St. Andrews before 1800 and his wife Rebecca a widow, married my 4th great grandfather, James STUART(STEWART) and had three children, James Jr., John and Janet.

This may or may not shed any light on the subject of William Viall of Charlotte County, NB. I was just looking at the will of a Rebecca Philips of St. Andrews dated 1796. She names her kinsman, William Viall of St. Andrews as the executor of her estate. This document further states that should William Viall die without heirs that this inheritance shall pass unto the hands of his sister "Nabby Kilby".

Lot 110 which had been granted to William Viall eventually comes into the hands of Ralph Taylor another of the Penobscot Loyalists.

Thanks, I also saw that and I know that Rebecca STROUT ELDRIDGE PHILLIPS is the mother of Rebecca ELDRIDGE VIALL STUART. The William VIALL in the will is the son of William Sr. as it says in the will when he comes of age. I don't know what happened to Nabby KILBY.
