I am searching for any information on Jacob CHANDLER and his wife Anna VIALL of Rehoboth, Massachusetts and Nantucket. Wills for both Jacob and Anna exist confirming the names of 8 children; Abigail, Samuel Viall, Sally S., Stockbridge, Medbury, Bathsheba, Benjamin and Ruth Allen.

Jacob CHANDLER was born abt 1734 and was "of Rehoboth, MA". He died abt 1808. Anna VIALL was born possibly 21 Feb 1759 at Rehoboth, MA and died abt 1839 in Nantucket. Anna Viall was the daughter of Lt. Samuel VIALL (1729-1777) of Rehoboth and Ruth ALLEN (1733-1820) of Barrington.

I do have possible ancestors for both of Anna VIALL's parents, her father Samuel VIALL may descend from John VIALL (b. abt 1619) of England and Boston, MA. This VIALL line moving to the Rehoboth, MA area. Her mother, Ruth ALLEN may descend from a William ALLEN (b. abt 1640) of England. The ALLEN line moves from Rhode Island to Swansea, MA, then to Barrington.

For more detailed info on the children of Jacob CHANDLER and Anna VIALL, I have posted on the CHANDLER message board and it includes dates, some names of spouses and grandchildren of Jacob and Anna.

I am mainly interested in the ancestors of Anna VIALL's husband, Jacob CHANDLER (since I have found nothing yet) but I also would like to verify the VIALL info. I would like to hear from anyone familiar with this line. Any info would be wonderful!

While researching the Bullock family Jacob was mentioned as a land abutter. They lived on Bullocks Neck now Riverside R.I. then Rehoboth later Seekonk, now East Providence. It was just across the brook from her parents who lived where Capt Thomas Willett lived. Stockbridge name comes from her Allen line who came to Barrington then Swansea from Prudence Island in Narragansett Bay. All these places are very near each other and the original John Viall land went down to Wm Allens in West Barrington where many Vialls are buried in the Viall yard, the Little Neck cem. was in Sam Vialls backyard and originally John Brownes farm then later also called the Viall yard. confused?
