These 3 Viall names appear in my collateral lines. Hannah Viall b. 1766 m. Nehemiah Payne b. 1769 VT (?) and they were enumerated on the 1790 census in Willsboro, Essex Co., NY along with my GGGGGparents Abel Pratt and Rachel Payne Pratt. The Pratts and daughter Rachel moved to Russell St. Lawrence Co., NY abt 1808/9 and were among the founding members of the Russell Baptist Church there. Rachel Pratt b. 1787 m. Samson Viall b. 1783 in Clinton Co., NY and they had 4 daughters before his death Feb. 9, 1813 we believe in the War of 1812. Samson Viall may have been the son of Phillip Viall who was also listed as an early founder of this same church. There is a Dorothy Viall also listed who we believe may have been the wife of Phillip. Some of those early meetings were held in Phillip Vialls home. Nehemiah Payne and wife Hannah Viall moved to Erie Co., NY with daughter Margaret and husband Elijah Richardson and bought land there. Elijah Richardson d. Jan 3, 1837 in Concord, Erie Co., NY while wife Margaret Payne Richardson d. 1872 in Red Wing, Goodhue Co., MN. Hannah Viall Payne w/o Nehemiah Payne d. unk but probably MI. Rachel Pratt Viall applied for a pension after the death of Samson Viall but was denied because she married very quickly following his death to Charles Alvah Johnson and had a large family with him.
