I was born in nyc 1965,I am the son of ralph vialet who left this world in early of 1997.My father and I were really not as close as we should have been, and of all that he has taught me,these words will always stick to me."If you ever run across someone whom last name is Vialet, you are related somewhere along the line",so i'm here to find if it is so.I will continue to check this post on a weekly basis in hopes to find a correspondance.

My father also told me the same thing, and I have always found it to be true. My name is Lynda I was born in 1969, my father was Lionel, or Rudolph, Ralph's oldest brother. I live in queens. I do know who you are, but you may not know me, I'm Rudolph and Cheryl's oldest daughter. I too, want to find more relatives. Get back to me, if you get more interesting replies. God bless you and your family.

Thanks for replying to our inquiry.
I have currently been researching our family tree and have gotten us back to France, Louisiana and Haiti. I've currently filled our tree with over 500 people.
We were also told the same about being related to ALL Vialet's, it's just the time consuming task of connecting the dots.
I would appreciate if you could send me whatever information you have about your great-grandfather and his parents and so forth.
Hope to hear from you soon.

Wow! I think those names sound familiar. Have you gotten a response from my cuz Lisha yet? She's the one compiling the list of names for the family tree. But from what you're saying I think you're family is a part of my lineage, because my father's ggparents was from Haiti also. I'm not too sure of the names I think it was Elsa and Flavel? It's such a big family I'm really excited to finally get the whole tree lined up and see how far and how many generations we branch out. Keep in touch, my e-mail address is < chocolyn30@aol.com> Talk to you soon!

I think we are talking about the same Alfred Vialet.

Here's how we are related:
Lionel Emelia Vialet had five daughters with Veronica Victoria Melita Zingue. One of their daughters is Juliete F. Vialet-Potter. Juliete is my grandmother. She married a man named Adolph A. Potter of St. Thomas. Their daughter, Colleen Potter-Salem is my mother.
Lionel and Melita split up, and he married Estrelle Smith. They had eight children. Ralph Vialet was their sixth child. Ralph met and married Ollimae (maiden name unknown). Their children are: Anthony (is this you?), Troy and Ralph.
I am sorry to hear that your father passed away. I do not know many of my Vialet family, other than Lionel's children with Melita, my grand aunts Aunty Janet and Aunty Leona, and Aunty Ricky (Ulrica). Thier first daughter Aunty Floria passed away in June 1971. I was born in 1978 so I never knew her. I have spoken to one of her daughters, Aurea C. Ortiz.
The only other Vialets I know are Tanty Elise and Elise Vialet-Ware "Lulu". They both live here on St. Thomas. I heard she was coordinating a family reunion/cruise of some sort.
I see that you posted this message a long time ago. I only recently started my search (earlier this year), so I hope you get this.
LOOKING FORWARD to getting to know you and your family!
Your cousin, Monifa A. Marrero St. Thomas, USVI
