Surnames: Viacara
My father's name is Viacara, and we're not entirely sure of the nationality....it's a somewhat involved story, so if you're curious, email me...sorry about the delay in response. I'm actually quite interested in my heritage on my father's side, so any information about the last name would be great.

Thanks,
a.j.

Hi Amanda, I was so excited to get this kind of reply. My Viacara branch(Grand father) is orginally from Bostia, Corsica. name Joseph Viacara in 1840.My Grandmother was from Ibos, canton Garbes,France. Maiden name was Jeanne Marie Pecune, born 1876. My mother was born Marcelle Amelia Viacara, In LaFarge, suburb of Chenoy,France in 1902. My family is also a very involved story. Would love to hear you story. I think Viacara name is more Italian than French.
Thanks so much.
Roberta

I really don't know much about my father's side of the family. His last name is Viacara, though I'm not sure if it was his father's or if it was the last name of his stepfather. My mother's maiden name was Bodnar. I am just searching for any information I can find about the last name--i.e. where it comes from, etc....

Sorry that I don't have any other information to share with you....good luck!

Hi Amanda, Thank you any ways. Check Ellis Island for Vicara, it will tell you about the Viacara's name and where it shows most of them came from. Roberta
