My wife's family descends from an Ezdra Vezine/Visina. He was born in Quebec area of Canada, married a lady named Diane who was from Vermont, had two sons, she died, Ezdra remarried a Sophia Hall, and moved to Illinois by 1855 where a daughter Mary was born. By 1857, he was in MI. Saginaw Co area. Even enlisted in the Civil War for one month. Later he was in Paris Township, Kent Co., MI by 1865, and then to Muskegeon, MI. Ezdra/Esdra died in 1898, Grand Rapids, Kent Co., MI.in the Soldiers Home there. Had some 13 children, in which 10 were born in MI. One of his sons was a Charles Visner. Charles changed his name to this spelling. Charles daughter Sadie said the Vizina near Afton were some how related to her family, but she did not know how. They use to summer in a cottage near Huron Beach north of Roger City. Often traveled through Afton. Ezdra is buried in cemetery at the soldiers home in Grand Rapids, MI. Wife Sophia is buried in Mt Cavelery Cem, west side of Grand Rapids, along with a number of their children.
