Trying to work out the ancestry of the bride in the above marriage.
Census returns show the bride born Peak Forest Derbyshire, abt 1808. Her headstone apparently (not had a chance to check it myself) has her born July 2nd, 1808. However, the most likely candidate was christened at Peak Forest the week before(!). If this candidate (d/o Joseph and Ann), the domestic servants with the couple in 1851, 1861 and 1871 would all be her nieces.
Is the headstone mis-transcribed or just plain wrong? Or is the bride Mary Ann (d/o Enoch and Mary), christened later that year?
