I have been working on a Veon Family Tree for a little less than a year, but have come to believe all of the Veon's of PA, OH & WV originate from a single man, Henry Veon, Sr. Henry apparently came to the US as a Hessian soldier (though I believe his [and our] ancestry is French), and made his way from Bucks County, PA in the 1790's, to Greene County, PA by 1800, and finally to Beaver County, PA by 1815.
Henry's son John appears to be the beginning of the WV Veon's, son (I believe) William appears to be the beginning of the OH Veon's, and son Henry, along with (I believe) sons Joseph (my 2nd great grandfather), Samuel & Jeremiah appear to be the beginning of the PA Veon's. From these points of beginning some of the Veon's then pushed further westward, and we can probably be found in most of the states today - though the highest concentration of Veon's still remains in PA, OH & WV.
The purpose of this post is to hopefully stimulate some constructive discussion to help sort fact from fiction for the Veon family. Disagreement and alternative scenarios are encouraged. Thanks.
