NILES - Mary Ann Cleary, 76, died Wednesday, April 15, at TriPoint Medical Center in Concord, Ohio, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born June 19, 1938, in Niles, Ohio, the daughter of Daniel and Adelma Calderone Vecchione.
Mary Ann was a 1956 graduate of Niles McKinley High School and was employed as a secretary at Trumbull County Board of Education for 17 years before retiring in 1991
. She married the love of her life, Fred Cleary, on Aug. 1, 1959.
They celebrated 55 years of marriage just before his death on Sept. 3, 2014.
She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Niles and loved vacationing with her family. She also enjoyed crocheting, baking her famous cookies, and attending her grandchildren's activities.
She was also active in planning class reunions with her high school friends.
Mary Ann will be deeply missed by her sons, Fred M. Cleary (DeeDee) of Stow, Ohio and Daniel J. Cleary (Colleen) of Concord; a brother, Sal Vecchione (Dorothy) of Austintown, OH; a sister, Sr. Adele Vecchione A.S.C. of Warren; six grandchildren, Stephen Cleary (Kendall), Shannon Cleary, Marissa Cleary, Matthew Cleary, Ashley Cleary and Sydney Cleary; a sister-in-law, Ann Pustay of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her loving husband, she was preceded in death by her parents. Friends may call Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Joseph Rossi & Sons Funeral Home in Niles,
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Niles, preceded by 9:30 a.m. prayer service at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Niles City Cemetery.
