I believe that Nehemiah Veal is John Veal's father. I also believe that Nehemiah Veal was born in Southold, Long Island, NY abt 1699, moved to Southern NJ. The first record of him there was as a subscriber to the Greenwich Presbyterian Church in 1735, along with Moses Platts and others. I also believe that Nehemiah Veal's son, John Veal, married Moses Platts daughter, Phebe Platts in about 1755. Many people state that her husband was Nehemiah. However, there is no direct evidence of her marriage to a Veal man. Her marriage to a man with the last name Veal is evidenced in her uncle David Veal's will in which he names his nieces and nephews including Phebe Veal in March 1763. I have placed all the information I have, including all the data I have gathered to demonstrate this relationship on worldConnect under Murden. Phebe and her Veal husband had many children. Not one of them named a child Nehemiah. All or nearly all named a child John.
