Does anyone have any knowledge of what happened to Hilda from 1919 onwards?

Hilda's birth is recorded for first quarter (january) 1913, Southampton, Hampshire, England. Her mother was Ethel Kate Marsh and her father, my great grandfather, Edward Veal. Edward left Hampshire soon after the end of WW1 and family knowledge is that he took Hilda with him to Scotland leaving behind his pregnant wife Ethel who was carrying my grandfather, John (Jack) Veal.

An Edward Veal marries in Scotland a couple of years later and this would seem to be my great grandfather as his parents are identical to my great-great grandparents, but there is no record of Hilda. I have been searching the internet for the last 2 years or so trying to find out what happened to my great aunt. Did she die in childhood en route to Scotland? Was she given to an orphanage? Did she leave the country? I don't know Hilda's middle names but would guess that the E stands for Ethel and the B is possibly for Blanche, her grandmother's middle name.

If you have any information that may help cast light on what happened to Hilda I would love to know.

Thanks

Caroline
