Harry, my family was included in the Millett & Hickman Families of Henry County Indiana by Franklin Miller. I am descended from Thomas Winfrey Smith and Ankah Veach, through Benjamin Franklin Smith and Sadie Izetta Bowman, my great grandparents from my father's mother. I have family lineage from Thomas and Ankah, including their 11 children and so on. Mr. Miller asked that I pick it up and carry it forward in a book of my own and I am working on it. I wonder if we should consider a collaborative effort. How far are you into the "next" Veach book? And, is it possible to obtain one of the previous ones?
Thank you, Donna.

I am Vicky Neal's sister and am also seeking answers to why the Bannon/Veatch or Veach connection remains such a mystery. I've been in contact with Nancy Weston who stated there might have been an American Indian connection. Both William Riley Bannon and his sister, are named on the census living with thier grandfather, Michael Bannon.....Nancy Bannon apparently died sometime before 1850 and her parents raised her children.

There is a James Veach, 9 years old, in the 1850 Census. He is living with Andrew Caudell and Mary J Caudell, who was Mary Jane Bannon, daughter of Michael Bannon. Michael Bannon was living in Henry Co, IN, around 1829 and was listed in the 1830 Census of Indiana as being in Delaware Co, IN. Michael is said to be an early settler in Henry Co. along with Thomas Veach, Jeremiah Veach, and Lewis Veach. Michael Bannon died in Hancock County, IN, and his will is in the court house. I hope this is of interest.
