I am seeking additional information about Eunice Spicer (1836 - 1901), wife of William Van Orman (1826 - 1895), both in the Van Norman Family Association Database, to see if there is a link to my ggg-grandfather Solomon Spicer's daughter Eunice. Solomon Spicer, wife Adeline, daughter Eunice, and some other children are listed in the 1850 federal census of Alexandria Town, Jefferson County, NY, (page 35), which is available online at the Jefferson County website of the USGenWeb Project. The census age for Eunice would correlate with the birthdate of the Eunice in the VN database. The census shows the Spicers living next door to a William VanHornem, whose age is listed as 22. I'm wondering if the census individuals are the same as those in the VN database, but William's census age doesn't quite match the birthdate in the VN database, and the last name spelling is different. So, with respect to the data in the VN database, I'm wondering: How are the exact dates of Eunice's birth and death know? Are the names of the parents of the Eunice in the database known? How are the exact dates of William Van Orman's birth and death known? Is his birth-town in New York known? Is there any other information known about the persons in the database that would show that they are, or are not, linked to those in the census? Thanks very much.
