I am replying to your inquiry re: So. Ill. Vancils. My grandfather was William E. Vancil of Benton, Illinois. He married Nettie Simpson on Sept. 15 1988. My mother was Hazel Elizabeth Vancil and married Clarence E. Upchurch. Both my parents were from Benton, Illinois. I dont know if this is of any help to you or not but at least another connection.

I beleive I am the son of the man you are searching about. My dads name was Leonard Adam Vancil. He was 48 years old when I was born in 51. He was stationed at Keesler Air Force base, but put he was a farmer on my birth certificate. My mother named her first son after him. He passed on some time ago in California.
