NEW SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – Robert “Bob” H. Valiquette, 84, passed away peacefully at South Lake Hospital on Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, while visiting his son, Robert and daughter-in-law Maureen in Florida.
Bob was born on March 11, 1928, in Youngstown, Ohio the son of Myrtle and George Valiquette.
He was veteran of the U.S. Navy from 1948 to 1952 and a veteran of the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1961.
After serving his country, he worked as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 37 years.
When he retired, he loved to travel, and enjoyed coming to Florida where he had extended family and friends who had loved him and who will miss him and his visits.
Surviving him is his wife of 53 years, the former Nancy Doepping, whom he married Nov. 1, 1958; sister Millie Valiquette Burkholder of Oregon; son Raymond (Lucille) Valiquette of Boardman, Ohio; son, Robert H. (Maureen) Valiquette II of Ferndale, Fla.; daughter Cynthia Valiquette of New Springfield; son David Valiquette of New Springfield; and five grandchildren, Samuel, Anthony, Taylor, Kristi and Ryan.
Preceding him in death besides his parents was one brother, Roy Valiquette; and two sisters, Marie Valiquette and Kathleen Valiquette Maxwell.
In Florida, private memorial services will be held by his son, Robert.
In Ohio, private memorial services will be held by his daughter, Cynthia and sons, Raymond and David.
