My grandmother was Nesca Vaile, our family stems from George Vaile, she married into Mould, but my cousin has done quite a comprehensive Tree, thought maybe it could help you.

I am a Sydney historian researching the lithographer, John Gardner Austin. His daughter, Annette Margarette, married William Vaile, son of George Vaile and Sarah Poole, 26 Feb 1861, at the Baptist Church, 130 Pitt Street, Sydney. According to the BDMs NZ online, Annette died in 1875, aged 36 years. Does this fit with your research and do you have any information about his children and their descendents. J G Austin lived in Auckland from c1850 to 1880 and I am trying to determine whether he worked as a lithographer or earned his living by some other means. In NZ directories of the period, I found a John Austin, a clerk in the Native Court, but suspect this is someone else with the same name. Any suggestions or contact you may have will be greatly appreciated,particularly if there is a published family history.

Hi Chrisdavis41! Hope this is helpful. George Vaile was born 1793, Christened in 28th of Jan 1793, at St Michael's Gloucester. Died 11th of July 1860, Wellesley St Auckland.(After a short illness.) Married Sarah Poole 5th June 1823, at St Mary's Magdalene, Bermondsey London. They immigrated to New Zealand in 1843, 0n 23rd of Dec with their five sons and three daughters.

My husband, Wm. Brown is a grandson of Charles Brown, the youngest son of Josiah and Rachel Brown and brother to Nancy and Sarah Brown. He recently aquired a family bible with the recorded birth dates for both Nancy and Sarah and other siblings. Also listed in the bible is the date of Sarah's death. Would be interested in any information on this family.

I have not been very successful in my research on Lewis Vaile. In some census records the name is spelled Vales. As for Watt--I haven't been very lucky there, either. I have a Wm. H. Watt b. Auglaize Co OH who md. Jennie _____ (maybe Baker) who was b. in NY. By 1880 they are in Greenwood Co KS. Wm. died in 1882. I can't find him or Jennie anywhere in 1870. Wm. Vaile/Vales md. Margaret Ann Osborne in IN in 1856--both were born in IN. Wm. may have died in Moultrie Co IL (he was there in 1880) and he either knew he was terminally ill or after he died, someone took his youngest daughter to Greenwood Co KS where she grew up and married. Sorry I can't be of more help.

I am also a descendant of Oliver Vail, Bessie Vail, George F Wright, who married Bessie. My father was a son of George and Bessie. I have a xeroxed copy of a Bible page from someone of my cousins which lists Vaile birth and death dates. I found the burial spot of Oliver and Sarah in MN. What information do you have?

Looking for information on Lewis Vaile b. 1809 TN m. 8 Mar 1835 Orange Co IN to Rhoda Coggs I have no other information except that he had son William b. ca 1837 Orange Co IN who may have d. ca 1877 IN. He was md. 3 July 1856 to Margaret Ann Osborn in Daviess Co IN. They had several children but Margaret Ann died soon after 1873 when her dau. Mary Elizabeth 'Mollie' was born. Wm. took Mollie to KS where she was raised by Jennie Watt who I think was an Osborn, perhaps Margaret Ann's sister. Will appreciate any clues or information.

Seeking any information - contradictions will be considered
As of April 27, 1916, she is listed as a surviving sister of Edward Melvin Mott in Lincoln, Maine, husband of Ruth Foster Mott. Other siblings listed are John Mott, Boston; Charles W. Mott, Bangor(Maine); Douglas Mott, Enfield (Maine); Mrs. A. Grooms, Massachusetts; Mrs. L. Mooris, Massachusetts; Mrs. M. Mitchell, New Brunswick.
Parents are Jacob and Mary Elizabeth Mott, buried in Mattawamkeag, but who may have originated from Belyea's Cove, north of Wickham on St. John River.
Jacob's father was Adam Mott.

The "Mrs. E. Vaile" queried above appears to be Sarah E. Mott who married Edward Vail, b abt 1851 in NB, on January 20, 1872 in Queen's County, NB.
Their Vail children(?) follow:
1)Mary J. (b 1873) m Albert W. Mott (1870-1933) in 1892 in King's County.
2)Louisa Jane, b 1877 in Jars, King Co, NB
3)Charlotte A., b abt 1879, NB
Limited Crabb, Sarah's mother, pedigree available.

I have hit a brick wall on the Vailes family. My g-grandfather was John William Vailes who supposedly had a brother named Henry. John William was an orphan at a early age in IN. He is found in Webster Co. KY in 1870 with a man named Martin (relative?). The death certificate states parents unknown, but born in IN. The story goes that his father was killed trying to protect his sheep. I have found no record in IN, but hoping someone has heard a story similar. William was born around 1855.

I don't know if there is a connection or not, but sounds like some of the same names. My Father is Leonard Odell Vaile (born 2/7/1917). His Father was Walter Allen Vaile and I believe his Father was Henry Franklin Vaile. I have also heard rumor of an Albert. My Dad was born in Atoka, OK.
