Paul A. Vagliardo
OTEGO — Paul A. Vagliardo, 66, of Otego died Saturday, Aug. 29, 1998, at his residence.
He was born March 22, 1932, in Oneonta, the son of Joseph and Concetta (Surano) Vagliardo.
He married Winetta Washburn on Oct. 9, 1954. She died in 1995.
Paul was employed by Ancillary Services at the State University College at Oneonta for more than 25 years. He retired several years ago.
He was a member of the United States Army National Guard in Oneonta.
Paul was also a member of St. Mary's Church, a former member of the Oneonta Moose, the Eagles and the Sixth Ward Athletic Club.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Joseph Comino of Otego; two grandchildren, Michelle McAdams and Tyler Comino, both of Otego; his brothers and their spouses, Carmen and Billye Vagliardo of Winter Haven, Fla., James and Mimi Vagliardo of Oneonta, and Joseph Vagliardo of Oneonta; a sister and her husband, Rosalie and Ronald Simmons of Oneonta; two sisters-in-law, Stella Vagliardo and Josephine Vagliardo both of Oneonta. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Charles and Louis Vagliardo.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, Sept. 2, 1998, at 10 a.m., in St. Mary's Church with the Rev. Paul Roman, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Emmons.
Friends may call Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Lester R. Grummons Funeral Home, Oneonta at which time the family will be in attendance.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Catskill Area Hospice or the Otego Emergency Squad.
Arrangements are by the Lester R. Grummons Funeral Home, Oneonta.
