It means "goes with a good heart." What is really interesting is that this was a "dit" name, an name. A "dit" name was a name that was added to further identify a person since names were so often the same. My fifth great grandfather was Jean (le) Roux dit Vade Bon Couer. It is fairly clear to me that we're missing an entire set of relatives that likely took on the "dit" name as their surname for some reason. It's not that unusual. My great, great grandmother was known to us as Marcelline Bellaire. My research eventually revealed that this too was a "dit" name and her actual surname was Janvry. Most Quebecois males in the 18th century with a "dit" name had it as a "nom de guerre'" a name added when in military service, although we still don't know for certain if my ancestor was in the military although I have some indication that we came for the French and Indian War or fought in it at least.
