Michelle, If you're the daughter of Edward Vaca, you'd be a 4th great-grandchild of Juan Manuel Baca (Vaca) [c1790-1856] who came to California from La Cienega, New Mexico in 1841 in the so-called Rowland-Workman Party. He and partner Juan Felipe (Armijo) Pena were granted Rancho Los Putos and Baca sold off a townsite there named after him: Vacaville, California.
Please let me know if you're still interested in your Baca/Vaca family history.
