I am doing some research into a family that changed the spelling of there name to Wabalas. It is possible it was Vabolis prior to the spelling change.
The family that came from Lithuania in the period between 1905-1912 were Joseph (Anthony?) Wabalas and his wife Julia (sometimes written as Ursula). They had several children including Joseph and Anthony. They settled into the Simsbury area in Connecticut after leaving Lithuania.
If any of this sounds familiar, feel free to respond and if you need addtl information, I can provide it.
Thanks,
Christine

My maiden name was Vickie Leona Wabalas. I was born in Tariffvillle Ct in 1953. My fathers name was George and he had two brothers, Joesph and Anthony. Is this any help? Can I give you any more info?
