My Mary P. Uxley was born in May 1851 in Pennsylvania. She died after 1920 in Lancaster, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. She was married to Hiram Platt.

I am stuck with her family. I don't think she is the daughter of Cornelius but I think they are somehow related due to similarity of name with Cornelius's daughter Mary.
Somewhere in my research I once thought she may have been a daughter to an Elisha Uxley.

Does anyone have any more current information?

Hi Kristy,

I am happy to know that I am not the only person in the world working on the Uxley (Huxley) family! I am surprised that there was another Mary P Uxley in the family... I have never been able to learn her middle name! Do you have any idea what the "P" stands for? She was definately not the daughter of Cornilius Uxley, more likely the grand daughter named for my ancestor Mary P Uxley Hebble, of Lancaster and or Chester Co., PA. I think that by finding some obituary items I have finally figured this out. Rebecca Plank Patton Uxley (who married Cornelius) appears to have been my Mary's mother.

Obituary information I found for Mary Uxley Platt erroneously lists George B. Uxley as step-brother (I believe he's her half brother). Obituary information I found for Mrs. Anna W. Kline lists her brother, George Uxley of Philadelphia and half brother James Patton of Downingtown and half sister Mrs Hiram Platt (My Mary) of Lancaster. Rebecca Plank Patton Uxley had a daughter Anna with Cornelius Uxley as well as a son named George B. Uxley.

It appears that my Mary was Mary Patton and, since she was about 1 year old when Rebecca married Cornelius, she at some point assumed Uxley as her surname. That would make sense with the P middle initial.

Anyone think this reasoning makes sense?

See I was just about to post a fault in my logic - my Mary Uxley was born in May 1852. Is there any way that Cornelius was married before he married Rebecca and that my Mary is from that marriage instead?

I know I am on the right track, it's just hard when everyone marries multiple times and then have children.

That information you have describes my family - just some dates are off and missing a child. THe daughter Mary is from whom I descend.
