Hey, I'm a MN Utecht. My mother's maiden name was Utecht and she spread it to me and my sister as our middle names. Anyways, as much as I know about my branch of the Utechts is we got our start in Sleepy Eye, MN about 30 or 40 miles Southwest of the twin cities. My grandfather Gilbert Utecht (or tech, as he likes to be called) is from there as well as my grandmother Ethel Utecht (not sure what her maiden name was). She was a nurse that attended nursing school in Cali. and Gmpa ended up becoming the president or VP of Rockwell Inc. when the spacerace was at full-bore. They both still reside in Sleepy Eye. Ruth Utecht (ruth hurley and now ruth utecht-lunborg), the youngest of two daughters and my mother currently resides with her husband Douglas Lundborg in Skopje, Macedonia, where she is part of Red Cross's international disaster relief organization. He's a United Nations police officer. They still maintain residance in Pine Haven, Wy. Her sister, my aunt, Sally Burns lives in Rochester, MN and works at the prison as a musical therapist.

I'm writing to you from Denver, Colorado, where I am a recruiter for the Navy. I'm going on my fifth year now and I love it. I had been stationed in New Jersey aboard the USS Seattle (Aoe-3), where I was the leading rescue swimmer and electronic warfare supervisor. My sister Lauren Utecht Hurley is beginning her third year at the United States Coast Guard Academy. We were both born at the St.Francis Hospital in Shakopee, MN.

Oh, I suppose I should add that my aunt Sally has three children, Daniel (the oldest, computer tech.), Catherine (nurse, works at the Mayo Clinic, and getting married in Nov.), and David (attending the University of Minnesota at Duluth).

That's about it, I know my sentence structure was atrocious throughout this whole letter. Please let me know about the Cali-Utecht branch, and feel free to write me on email anytime.

Dear Ryan,
I came across your message posted 29 Nov, 2004 and I think we are related. My Grandmother was Wilhelmina Sell Miller Pingel. I think your mother, Virginia Kain Sherman and I are cousins. If this is correct, perhaps you would like to trade some information on the family. Lou Frost

I see that this message is very old, but I'm a Utecht in Minnesota. My grandfather is Francis (Frank) Utecht, who adopted my father. Want more info?

Hi, nothing wrong with your sentence structure! I have about 17 Utechtt members but the ones I have a birthplace for is Illinois. I have heard of a lot of Utechtt in Minn and maybe one of mine is. Who knows! All of them are from the 1800 and 1900s. Sorry I can't help, but keep trying. My husband was a Navy pilot in WW2 so go Navy! I don't have any of your names in my tree. Love from Arizona.
