My grandfather said "Utecht" was the original Lutheran-German spelling, but some converted to Catholics and changed the spelling to "Uttecht" to distinguish the families. Fasciseus@aol.com

My connection is very distant, but am looking for Mr. Mrs. Lewis Utech and their granddaughter that would have attended a Patten reunion in Tonica, IL. The matriarch of the family was Anna Wiley Salisbury Patten, wife of John Patten. Anna was born 1829 in Ohio and died some time after 1910. Would you like to compare notes?

My maternal grandmother's father was Henry Uttecht who was originally from the Norfolk, NE area. He had several siblings and I am thinking their father's name was Ferdinand. At the moment my grandmother had all my Uttecht information, but I will ask her more about it.
