I found the following obituary clipping in some of my Usher papers. Neither the name of the newspaper, nor the location had been noted, but I believe it may have been Maine, since Wiscasset is mentioned. As far as I know this David Usher is not closely connected with my Ushers, but maybe someone can use the information.
Genie Usher

"Dresden -- David Frederick Usher, 66, of Blinn Hill Road, died unexpectedly Tuesday, Nov 23, 1993, at his home.
Born in Brooklyn NY on June 11, 1927, he was the son of Frederick and Inez Collins Usher.
He graduated from Brooklyn Tech High School in 1943. He took photographic training at New York University. He later studied scientific photography at Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY.
Mr Usher married Adrienne Sharkey on Aug 18, 1952.
He worked for Life magazine in New York City, and also did scientific photography for Yale professors.
Mr. Usher later worked in quality control for Handy Spring in Hartford, Conn, and at Atlantic Precision in Biddeford.
He and his wife moved to Dresden in 1987.
Mr Usher was a member of St Philip's Episcopal Church in Wiscasset. He also enjoyed making miniature furniture.
Besides his wife of Dresden, he is survived by two daughters, Janice A. Wilkey of Dresden and Elizabeth A. Usher of Lewiston; two grandchildren, Jeremy M USher and Jessica J. Wilkey.
Visiting hours will be held from 3-5 p.m. Friday at Mayo Funeral Home, Federal St, Wiscasset."
