Glen is my brother, so I can answer this for him. The name Uranis is Lithuanian. Our family came to the US from the port of Bremen, in 1906 and settled in the Decatur and Zeigler, Illinois. The name was spelled Jurenas originally, and the current spelling is phonetic.
Interestingly, our great aunt,Pauline, who came over as a very young girl, considers herself a Lithuanian, but she recalls her father taking his horse cart to Riga to sell produce. He would leave in the morning and return the same day, which would indicate that they must have lived in what today is Latvia, Lithuania being more than a half days ride from Riga by horse. I have heard that the surname Jurenas is fairly common in the area.
