Is Luis Valachez de Uranga one of your relatives?
He taught Spanish in the Seattle Public Schools during
the 1960's. He was born and raised in Alpine TX.
He attended Sul Ross. I know his mother is buried there,
as we visited her grave and some of his relatives in
Alpine in 1966. I last saw him in 1968, but have
been unable to relocate him. A group of students drove
with him from Seattle to Mexico City in 1966. I attended
the Guadalajara Summer School, sponsored by UofAriz.
that year. I know that Luis was divorced, but no more
info. Any info would help.

Hello Joe!
Well my Grandfather is also Charles Uranga and I am his
kin. (His oldest grandchild to be exact) What I want to know is why he is looking for more "kin" when he doesn't spend time with the ones he has? I, personally would enjoy seeing more of him and getting to know him better. And hey, when did you start using a letter "U" as your middle initial?? Interesting!

Hi !
My mom's maiden name is Mary (Maria) Uranga, and she is also from Alpine, Texas. Her mother was Paula Carrasco Uranga and father was Gregorio Uranga, Sr.

My mother had 6 siblings Manuela (Tootsie), Prudencio (Pro), Maria Dolores (Dora), Teresa (Terry), Alejandra (ALex), and Gregorio Jr. (always called Junior).

I am sure they are related. She lives in Northern California now. The whole family moved to San Jose when my mom was about 10...Late 40's maybe.

My mom does not do e-mail so I am doing this for her.

Truly,
Vivian Linder

I am a nephew of Charles. My mother is close to Charles but growing up as a kid we didn't learn much about the uranga side of the family. I would really like to know more about all the urangas and especially my grandfather clemente. If you can e-mail me say hello and tell me all about the uranga clan.I don't know my uncle very well but we have met at least 7/8/or9 times over the years. Most of those times i was a boy and he lived in Eagle Pass, Texas. As an adult i have seen uncle charlie 2 or 3 times. Have a great day.
