According to a baptisimal certificate, my great-great grandmother was Annamae Uram from Ozenna(sp?), in what is now southeastern Poland. She married a man with the last name of Czeperak. I'm looking for any information that might help in my research.

Uram is Hungarian. Most likely of Hungarian Jewish decent. Most Urams claim to be Polish Catholics. and have no knowledge of their family history. All of the Jewish Urams I know all know their roots. You do the math.

Nungary..Most likely Jewish. If you family has told you you were Polish...They lied! I have done the research and have found any Polish Catholic named Uram has no clue where they came from. All Hungarian Jews do. You do the math.

My aunt Julia Wagner (nee Uram) died last Tuesday 3/26/2013. She was 107 years old. One of her brothers was your grandfather. The nine children in the family were: Andy, Johnny, Stevie, Mickey, Mary, Anne, Julia, Eva and Lucille.

Eva was my mother.

Their parents were Nicholas Uram and Mary Uran (nee Kanchuga). I have been researching and have come to believe they were from Rusyn area in Europe.

The family claimed to be Greek Orthodox. My aunt was born somewhere in PA and later the family moved to Benld, IL. My aunt was born in 1906.

Do you have any records of them living in Hungary?

Russ S.

Russ,

Andrew Uram was my grandfather. He was born in, or around, Pitt, PA. Lived in Chicago area for a good portion of his life. Trying to track down his siblings, and/or their families.
