James Upshall Jan 25 1740 Hazelbury Bryan Dorset, Eng died Aug 2 1824. married Dec 6 1763 Haselbury Bryan Dorset, England to Rachel Spicier Mar 24 1742- Aug 17 1829. They had five children Charles, Robert Robin, Bethiah, Mary and Joseph.
I'm having problems with the two brothers Charles 1774 Hazelbury Bryan Dorset, England- Mar 13 1828, He married Apr 19 1802 to Suzannah Barnes 1779 Dorset, Eng.-1862
Joseph 1769 Dorset, Eng.1861 Hazelbury Bryan Dorset, Eng.
married Sep 10 1793 Dorset, Eng. to Ann Watts 1763- 1814 Dorset, Eng.
Both brothers had sons James Upshall, Charles son James Aug 26 1809 Hazelbury Bryan, Dorset, Eng.- 1891 Dorset, Eng. Married in 1832 to Elizabeth Gray 1811-1890. Joseph son James 1805 Dorset England, Married Aug 30 1835 Dorset,
England to Susan White 1800 Dorset England. Both James had
a son Herbert 1836 and married Sarah Mullet Mar 19 1857
Hazelbury Bryan, Dorset, England. I think i must have something mixed up. Any help would be greatly appreciated

married to Rachel SPICIER 1724 - 1829.

What location are you researching. Where were they born, married etc

are you certain of the dates mentioned - if so it appears that Rachel UPSHALL nee SPICIER was aprox 16 years older than husband James UPSHALL.

James was born in Ireland around 1841 and came to Manitoba Canada where he married Mary Ann. She was born in Manitoba,Canada and was married before to Alexander MacDonald. She had eight kids with him and 6 with James. They both died in Manitoba. Any info would be greatly appreciated

My Father's name was Harold Upshall
I think his parents were Albert Upshall and Edith Pike
his siblings were Frank, Hilda and Madge. For some reason I remeber the names Alexander Upshall, Nelson Upshall not sure what the relation is. I would be greatful for any information.

Trying to find out what happened to Kate Upshall born 1876 in Winterborne Came daughter of Stephen Upshall and Susan Upshall(Harding)we have her up to 1903 when she had a daughter Frances Louisa Upshall in Christchurch workhouse.

her mother Susan was looking after Frances Louisa in the 1911 census. but we cant find out what happened to kate after the workhouse.

I emigrated with my parents to Australia in 1966.
I have a list of relatives dating back to the 1800's/
Most from Dorset/Somerset.
Dad grew up the Yeovil district.

Hi! I am the only Upshall in the white pages in perth. My grandmother and father Violet and Fred (I hope not a nick name) came to Queensland by boat from Wales between 1944 and 1951. Had children David, Roy and Hillary. Both passed away in QLD. David passed in WA but other two children alive and well.

Was Upshall her married name? I have an Annie Upshall (mother Unity) in my tree who was born in Dorset and married George Henry Worth (b nr Milton Keynes) in Crewe. George's father was from Crewe and I assumed that's why he and Annie moved back there but maybe there was a connection with her mother, Unity coming from Crewe. Her father was Thomas Upshall but he married again and moved to Hampshire, I think, and I haven't been able to find out what happened to Unity. Annie and George called one of their children Unity Beatrice, presumable after her mother. I have had difficulty researching this part of my tree as Annie's surname was spelt 'Upshaw' on her marriage certificate. Hope this is of some use to you.

This has been posted as a new message rather than as a reply to Pauline's invitation for lookups.

You need to say which census you want lookups and what year they were married. If they married after 1891 and you want their single family details from the 1891 census, you need to post FULL info from the 1881 census as it helps when searching
1881 census is at www.familysearch.org
