I am looking for a Henrietta Updegraff that was married to an Isaac Closson. They lived in Dekalb county Indiana in 1830-1840-1850 census records. In Troy Twp. They all seemed to vanish after that. They had a son named Thomas Closson and probably other children also. I haven't been able to find any records. Thomas was my GGGG Grandfather. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Thomas Closson was my Great Grandfather, William Richard Closson was my grandfather. Doris"jean" Closson Rariden was my mother. Isaac and Henrietta were divorced sometime after the 1850 census at this time they were in Randolph County. I can't find anything on Isaac and the other children from that point. Henrietta remarried Younglove Monroe in 1856. I found in the 1860 census they had listed Thomas with last name of Monroe. This has to be Thomas Closson as Younglove had no sons with the name of Thomas from previous marriage. Please let me know how you are related. Thank you.

Just saw your post...
I'm interested since my ancestor is Younglove Monroe of DeKalb County. I knew he was married to Henrietta (his 2nd wife) but don't know much about her. He remarried a Lydia Fenton Baird/Beard in 1868, so wonder what happened to Henrietta?

Thanks,
John Jackson

Henrietta had several other children besides my Great grandfather .Mystery, I can't find info for them either, why was Thomas the only child she had with her in census with Younglove Monroe. Did they all die, some were even younger than Thomas. There father Isaac Closson is a mystery also as to what happened to him. Rumor has it that Isaac and Henrietta had divorced, but can't find anything about that. Rambling on here, at a loss as to what happened and where they might be buried. Thanks, Cathy Taulbee
